SOUTHRIDGE WINTER SERIES CROSS COUNTRY OPENER

Steven Kinney, Steven K Sports here. Mountain Bike Action has me guess the results of the first mountain bike race in the world. I was snowed in at Big Bear, CA for the 2008 Winter Series event. I managed to get down the hill on time after digging out 0.6m of powder. It was perfect weather, around 80 degrees and clear sun. Eric Bierman won the cross-country semipro class after he decided to start a training program for the first time in the fall. He set the course record for 2008 and had the fastest time. In 45 minutes, Bierman won the Pro Super D by 11 seconds over Waylon Smith (MBA tester) and SoCal Specialized rider. Steven Ks Michelle Rivera won the Pro Womens Super D.
Conditions Michelle was 3rd at the Pro Women’s Downhill.
